Tina functions as a local advocate or family surrogate for Barbara. She accompanies Barbara to a number of specialist appointments that conclude she has a slight visual-spatial deficit and early vascular dementia. Barbara's physician has prescribed new medication for her and she will work with her psychologist on memory improvement techniques.

Tina works with the physician and physical therapist to get Barbara enrolled in a water aerobics class at a local health club and provides for a personal trainer to help Barbara perform her strength and balance exercises at home.

Tina advocates for Barbara with Miracle Ear to facilitate delivery of a hearing aid prescribed by her doctor. She is able to get the device in two weeks, instead of the normal four months.

Tina has worked with the women's circle at Barbara's church to arrange for a congregation member to take Barbara to services and the weekly women's meeting.

Tina attends meetings with Barbara and her attorney to facilitate a durable power of attorney for Barbara and to help Barbara understand the features of her will and estate plan.

Tina keeps Mary up-to-date on all of the current issues and receives feedback and direction from Mary. <Next>
