Study - Continued
<Previous>
Six
months have passed since Tina began her work with
Barbara. Barbara has been attending a reminiscence
/ life review support group and reports that she feels
more confident, less isolated and generally happier.
There have been no falls or other crises.
Tina
monitors Barbara through monthly visits to her home.
She provides a monthly status report to Mary that
discusses any events, changes in Barbara's condition,
and overall living status. Tina is always available
to answer questions from either Barbara or Mary, and
to address specific requests.
Recently,
Tina arranged for a handyman to fix a leaking faucet
at Barbara's house. Barbara still does not want companion
care initiated. Tina continues to monitor Barbara's
home situation, but expresses some concern about the
effect of Barbara's visual-spatial deficit and early
vascular dementia on her ability to function independently
and safely. <Next>
